# Keeping Your Account Secure

## Best practices for account security

**Protect Your PIN:**

- Never share your 6-digit PIN with anyone
- Don't write it down where others can find it
- Change it regularly
- Don't use obvious combinations (birthdays, 123456)

**Enable Biometrics:**

- Use Face ID or fingerprint for faster, more secure login
- Biometric data stays on your device only

**Monitor Your Account:**

- Check your transaction history regularly
- Enable push notifications for all transactions
- Report suspicious activity immediately

**Device Security:**

- Keep your phone locked with a passcode
- Don't share your device with others when logged in
- Log out on shared devices
- Keep the Granite app updated

**Recognize Phishing:**

- Granite will NEVER ask for your PIN via phone, email, or SMS
- Verify you're on the official Granite app
- Don't click suspicious links claiming to be from Granite

**If You Suspect Fraud:** Contact customer support immediately with details of the suspicious activity.
