What happens to an account in the event of a holder's passing?In the event of an account holder’s passing, the remaining balance in the Granite account is redeemed and distributed in accordance with standard legal inheritance procedures in Egypt.Required DocumentationTo initiate the process, the heirs or a legally authorized representative must provide the following documents:
  • Death Certificate: An official copy issued by the relevant authorities.
  • Inheritance Declaration: The official legal document outlining the heirs and their respective shares.
  • Redemption Request: A formal request signed by all heirs listed in the Inheritance Declaration or by a legally authorized representative.
The Redemption ProcessOnce the required documentation is submitted and verified by our legal team:
  1. Processing: Granite will process the redemption of all remaining certificates in the account.
  2. Transfer: The total balance will be transferred to the bank account currently registered under the deceased client’s name.
Fund DistributionAfter the transfer is completed, the heirs can collect their respective shares directly from the bank. The distribution is handled by the bank in accordance with the legal shares outlined in the inheritance documents.
